I’m co-founder and president of Ayuda Efectiva, a nonprofit that selects and funds the most effective charitable programs (especially those that save the most lives per dollar).
I do a lot of advocacy for the core ideas of effective altruismâmostly in Spanish, though I’ve been quoted in places like The Atlantic.
I have pledged to give at least 10% of my lifetime income to the most effective charities.
You can find me on X and LinkedIn or drop me a line.

My book “Altruismo Racional”
“This short book will change lives. Pablo Melchor’s powerful arguments sweep away all the excuses for inaction and Altruismo Racional  immediately leaps to the top of lists of the best books – in any language – about how we can and should act effectively against global poverty.”
Peter Singer, professor of bioethics, emeritus, Princeton University and author of The Life You Can Save.
Altruismo Racional makes the case that ordinary people have far more power to save lives than they realize â and shows them exactly how to use it.

The book is currently only available in Spanish. For similar books in English, I recommend Peter Singer’s The Life You Can Save or Will MacAskill’s Doing Good Better.
Interviews and podcasts
Over the last several years I’ve been interviewed on many podcasts and YouTube channels. Here’s a recent one (you can find links to others here):

TEDx talk
In 2025 I gave this TEDx Talk on how you don’t need to be a doctor or a firefighter to save lives. We live in a world where thousands of children under 5 die every day in poor countries because of easily preventable diseases. Saving their lives is within our reach:
